Membership Options
Charlotte Center for Literary Arts, Inc. — “Charlotte Lit” — is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. Memberships and donations are tax-deductible charitable contributions.
Memberships and private donations enable us to serve the community with literary arts programming for readers, writers, and arts enthusiasts.

General Memberships
- General Membership
- $75 per year or $7 per month
- Benefits: Member pricing for classes; two free classes each year (Charlotte Lit’s choice); consignment fee waiver for one title at Park Road Books; discounts on Scrivener writing software and Freedom distraction blocker; access to our members-only online community and resource group; and access to occasional members-only events.
- Family Membership
- $100 per year or $9 per month
- Family Membership is a General Membership that extends the benefits to all members of your household.
- Starving Artist Membership
- $25 per year
- Starving Artist Membership is a General Membership for students and writers on a budget.
Benefactor Memberships
- Supporting Membership
- $250 per year or $21 per month
- Benefits: All Family Member benefits, plus an annual gift of a signed book from a visiting author.
- Patron Membership
- $500 per year or $42 per month
- Benefits: All Supporting Member benefits, plus a 1-hour editorial consultation with a Charlotte Lit faculty member.
- McCullers Leadership Circle
- $1,000+ per year
- The McCullers Leadership Circle is a group of loyal supporters investing in Charlotte Lit’s future and helping achieve our vision of becoming the Southeast’s premier creative writing and literary arts center. [Learn more here]
