Open Studio: Write in Community

What is Open Studio? Charlotte Lit opens the doors to our members to gather together to read, write, and learn in community.

Who is invited? Everyone with an active membership. Memberships start at just $75 per year (and there’s a very low cost “starving artist” membership available, too.) [Check your member status here]  [Join as a member here]

When is Open Studio? Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (except for holiday weeks; check our newsletter for updates).

What’s it like? Charlotte Lit’s studio is welcoming and comfortable, with different types of spaces to accommodate different preferences. The default condition for Open Studio is quiet-ish, but not silent. We’ll often be playing instrumental music. Hushed conversations are permitted, but no phone calls or online meetings. Beverages and snacks are available, along with a tip jar to help cover the cost.

What else happens at Open Studio? Occasionally, one of our Writers in Residence will be on hand to lead a small-group conversation and to provide one-on-one coaching. You can find that schedule here.

What if I have questions? Email admin@charlottelit.org.

What if I need more studio time? McCullers Leadership Circle Members are invited to use the studio Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  [Learn more about this level of membership here]
