NEW! Charlotte Lit’s Writers in Residence Program
Thanks to a foundational grant from the Cowan Slavin Foundation, Charlotte Lit members will have the opportunity to learn from and work with three distinguished area writers: Bryn Chancellor in fiction, Patrice Gopo in creative nonfiction, and Jay Ward in poetry.
Work with Our Writers in Residence
- Come to Office Hours: Each Resident will hold open office hours once per month at Charlotte Lit. Each session will begin with a group conversation, followed by individual/private coaching sessions. Find the schedule here: charlottelit.org/writers-in-residence/office hours.
- Apply to the Writers in Residence Coaching Program: For more in-depth coaching, members can apply to work one-on-one with a Resident, on up to ten pages of poetry or prose. Fees are on a sliding scale based on ability to pay. Please read the guidelines at the bottom of this page, then apply here: charlottelit.org/writers-in-residence/apply.
- Attend a Resident Event at Charlotte Lit: Our residents will read from their work at the grand opening of Charlotte Lit’s new studio on October 3, 2025. They’ll participate in a group conversation on February 11, 2026.
